The United States President, Donald Trump, has bowed to pressure regarding the use of a face mask in public.

For the first time since the preventive measure was issued to curtail the spread of the pandemic, Trump was sighted on Saturday July 11, 2020 wearing a face mask.

The president was compelled to comply with the measure as the country battles another frightening daily record of coronavirus cases.

White House leaders of the country’s struggle against the pandemic have repeatedly urged citizens to wear face coverings in public to prevent the spread of the Covid-19.

Trump had remained adamant, flagrantly ignoring the prevention. He was not moved by the cases of White House staff tested positive for the virus.

Trump was compelled to use a face mask bearing the presidential seal, following the advice issued by the World Health Organization that countries should step up control measures to prevent the pandemic.

Trump wore dark face mask as he visited wounded military veterans at the Walter Reed military hospital in a suburb outside Washington.

“I’ve never been against masks but I do believe they have a time and a place,” he told reporters.

The United States is the country worst hit by the pandemic, followed by Brazil — which surpassed 70,000 deaths on Friday.
