Software failure has forced EasyJet to cancel hundreds of flights.

While disclosing this on Friday May 27, 2022, the airline explained that the cancellations would affect about 24 flights per day from London's Gatwick airport between May 28 and June 6.

"We advise customers due to travel with us to continue to check Flight Tracker for the status of their flight before making their way to the airport.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused and customers can apply for compensation in line with regulations," the statement reads.

The statement adds, "easyJet can confirm that the earlier IT systems issues have now been rectified.

"Unfortunately, they resulted in some cancellations earlier today and while we expect to operate most of our remaining flying programme some may still be subject to some disruption in the coming hours."

It also noted that the cancellations were "necessary to provide reliable services over this busy period".

The travel company maintained thay various operational and supply chain issues are to blame for the flight cancellations.

It comes after a software failure forced EasyJet to cancel around 200 flights on Thursday.
