Third hoax bomb threat in five days has Mumbai cops on high alert

A luxury hotel in Mumbai has allegedly received a call threatening that four bombs had been planted in the hotel.

According to the police, The Lalit Hotel on Sahar Airport Road received a bomb threat call on Sunday.

The unidentified caller said that if the hotel administration did not want the bombs to trigger then they should pay him Rs 5 crore. The hotel administration informed the police.

When the police conducted checks at the hotel, nothing was found. A case of extortion, threatening has been registered against an unidentified person.

The incident comes days after Mumbai Police’s traffic control unit received a threat message warning of a 26/11-like terror attack. Mumbai’s Taj Palace and Oberoi Trident were among the luxury hotels which came under attack by terrorists during the 26/11 attacks.

The threat message was allegedly sent from a Pakistan-based phone number and states that six people will execute the plan in India. The sender of the message said that his current location can be traced to Pakistan.
