A fire kills 69-year-old man

A fire broke out in 1837 Burke Ave. between Ely and Bruner Ave. and killed a 69-year-old man.
The fire started around 11:15 a.m. Monday. Firefighters found the victim dead in a second-floor bedroom. Two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
