Meet Famod Konneh: New Associate Director for Outreach at NYC Mayor’s Office

The New York City Office of the Mayor has recently appointed Famod Konneh as the new Associate Director of Outreach, Ethnic & Community Media.

Hence, to know more about Famod Konneh, read his brief biography below.

Famod Konneh brings over a decade of city government experience to the Mayor’s Office of Ethnic and Community Media (MOECM). Before joining MOECM, he served as the Director of Community Partnership at NYC Health & Hospital /Test and Trace Corps. In this capacity, he led a citywide community engagement effort that promoted testing and vaccination.  

Before joining NYC Health and Hospital, he served as Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships at NYC Census 2020. An office established by Mayor Bill de Blasio to ensure that every New Yorker was counted in the 2020 Census.  In 2017, he served as the Bronx Borough Director and African Liaison at the Mayor’s Office Community Affairs Unit. In this capacity, he served as the representative of the Mayor to the Bronx and was also responsible for the Office’s outreach to the city’s African community. He assisted in establishing a deep partnership with the City’s African communities and actively engaged them in city government. He is a passionate community advocate with a strong desire to support and work for the public good.  

He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Liberia and an MPA from Baruch College. He originally hails from Liberia, West Africa, and is one of the 1.4 million people who called the Bronx home.
