On Sunday, a shocking incident unfolded during a block party in Baltimore, United States.
According to a report, not less than 30 individuals fell victim to a mass shooting.
This tragic event marks the largest shooting in the city since 2014, according to reports.
Reports also indicate that numerous calls flooded the police department regarding the shooting, which occurred in a residential area known as South Baltimore, specifically within the neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Authorities have confirmed that two individuals lost their lives, while three others remain in critical condition.
Acting police commissioner, Richard Worley, described the scene as “extensive,” revealing that only 20 out of the 28 wounded victims were able to make their way to the hospital unaided.
Mayor Brandon Scott of Baltimore expressed the urgent need to address nationwide access to firearms, highlighting that this incident serves as a stark reminder of that necessity.
He pledged the city’s unwavering commitment to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
Addressing the assailants directly, Mayor Scott issued a strong message, stating, “I want those who are responsible to hear me and hear me very clearly. We will not rest until we find you, and we will find you. Until then, I sincerely hope that with every breath you take, you contemplate the lives you took and the lives you shattered here tonight.”
