Heavy snowfall and gusty winds are expected to move into New York City Wednesday morning through Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) for Eastern Region, a major storm is expected to impact portions of the Mid-Atlantic and New England this Wednesday and Thursday as a nor'easter develops and lifts up Mid-Atlantic Coast.
Heavy snow is expected from eastern West Virginia across western Maryland, Pennsylvania, northwest New Jersey, eastern New York and southern New England.
Freezing rain and ice accumulations are expected in northwest North Carolina and across much of southwest and central Virginia.
"Confidence is high that this winter storm will result in significant impacts including travel disruptions and power outages across much of the Mid-Atlantic, southeastern New York and southern New England.
"For many areas this will be the first significant snowfall of the season. If you must travel, please exercise extra caution, and review your winter driving safety procedures," reads the winter storm watch by the NWS.
The New York City Emergency Management has also issued the same winter storm watch.
