Ocasio-Cortez joins Americans to honor veterans
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has joined other Americans to honor the nation’s veterans, and their loved ones.
While disclosing this on Wednesday November 11, 2020, Ocasio appreciated the veterans for their heroism, sacrifices, and the dedication of lives to the country.
"More than simply thanking our veterans, we must ensure our veterans thrive.
"This past term, the House of Representatives passed nearly 100 bills," said said.
She added that the report the bells will support veterans and expand access to mental health support and housing.
"I will also address the case backlog at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a suite of bipartisan bills to enhance entrepreneurial opportunities for veterans returning to civilian life -- but we can and will do more in our fight to expand access to housing, education, employment, and healthcare for all those who have served in our country’s armed forces," Ocasio said.
"Thank you in particular to the 10,000 veterans who live in NY-14, as well as our active service members and their families. It takes a special kind of hero to put this country ahead of their own wellbeing and to you we are forever grateful," she added.
