<p><strong>Let’s Peace It Together Hereforward during Peace December 2018</strong></p>
<p>Bronx, New York — Friday, November 30, 2018 marks the 9th International Peace Lighting Day and Peace December observance, two of the world’s most powerful peacebuilding initiatives today. </p>
<p>Hundreds of thousands of families will gather on Friday, November 30th in their localities from over twenty two countries to light Peace Candles and make commitments to observing the Peace Month, which may result in saving thousands of lives and relationships. </p>
<p>Peace December, an initiative started in the Bronx, New York City in 2010, has now caught worldwide attention. Folks from nations dealing with high societal violent, public safety concerns and hate crimes have been studying how to use December to help disrupt these deadly phenomena, as Peace December was intended to do. </p>
<p>According to the Global Peace Index, nations collectively spend over $14 trillion annually in conflict mitigation and management without any indication of downward trending. The worst part of these conflicts is not the skyrocket expenditure but the endless genocides and landless refugees they espoused. </p>
<p>As a result, if Peace December can chip away just 1/12 of this $14 trillion to enable governments to direct these savings to vital lifesaving services, we would immediately see these conflicts trending to negligible numbers. It is a common knowledge that conflicts and hate crimes aren’t inevitable. </p>
<p>Against the backdrop of this reality, we ask the public again join us in lighting peace candles at public gathering or in private homes, big or small. </p>
<p>Let us welcome the ‘disrupter of societal violence’ (Peace December) tomorrow by lighting candles and pledging to observe December peacefully.<br />
Love is natural. Hate is learned. Peaceful Coexistence must universally be inevitable. </p>
