NYC Council Member, Amanda Farias, sponsors homeowners rebate
New York City Council Member, Amanda Farias, has sponsored homeowners rebate.
Farias disclosed this via her Facebook page on Wednesday November 30, 2022.
According Farias, with the initiative, homeowners could receive a rebate of up to $440 this year.
“I am proud to have sponsored legislation to give working and middle-class homeowners something they have not had in 15 years — money back from your government,” she said.
When combined with the state rebate, most co-op, condo, and homeowners could receive a rebate of up to $440 this year, Farias stated.
The Council member stated that “If you are up to date on your property taxes as of June 30, 2022, you should have been mailed a check in August of 2022. If not, check in with my office or with the Department of Finance on your eligibility.
“While this rebate will hopefully help with the financial burden of continuously increasing property taxes, a property reform is still greatly needed and something I will continue to push for.”
