Queen Mother, daughter face unlawful eviction on new years eve
Queen Mother Dr. Deloise Blakely, an 80-years aged life-long humanitarian and her profoundly disabled daughter have been illegally evicted as a result of deed theft.
The historic Housing Development Funding Corporation (HDFC) property that she established has been a safe haven for homeless women and children for nearly 50 years in Harlem.
The impending and illegal eviction is slated to occur on Dec 31, 2022. This case stems from a deed theft and mortgage fraud attempt that started nearly 14 years ago. She has been repeatedly denied justice despite having had her case adjudicated in the following New York courts: housing, bankruptcy, supreme and the second district court of appeals.
The epidemic of fraud is of such astonishing scale in the State of New York that their State Senate held a special committee hearing to address the matter, where Queen Mother’s testimony was presented. To view the senate hearing click here.
Queen Mother is a Harvard, MIT and Columbia University graduate with a PhD in Education, a Fulbright Scholar. She founded and has sustained one of the only United Nations ECOSOC NGO’s for civil society for over 50-years. Her life-long service to the Harlem community earned her the designation of “Community Mayor of Harlem”, which makes battling to save her home especially egregious.
The property, 477 W 142nd Street in Harlem has served as a safe haven for downtrodden women for nearly 50-years. It is part of a historic HUD housing program that Queen Mother Blakely pioneered by transforming the then abandoned building. It has become prime real estate over the last decade or so, and therefore targeted by criminals who utilize nefarious methods to steal real properties from unassuming and vulnerable New Yorkers-mostly the elderly.
On December 30th, 2022, there will be a press conference and community rally to bring awareness to the injustice taking place surrounding Queen Mother’s unlawful eviction. Her vast community of supporters will be present in numbers to bring light to this epidemic of fraud that is destroying the most vulnerable members of our society.
