Fatal shooting rocks South Ozone Park, victim struck nearly dozen times
Tragedy has struck in the neighborhood of South Ozone Park, Queens, as a man fell victim to a fatal shooting at the intersection of 117th Street and Rockaway Boulevard.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by authorities pending notification of family, was mercilessly struck by nearly a dozen bullets, sustaining gunshot wounds to his head, leg, and chest.
According to reports from the scene, emergency responders swiftly transported the gravely injured man to nearby Jamaica Hospital, where despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was tragically pronounced dead.
This harrowing incident has left local residents shaken, with one resident expressing that such violence, unfortunately, is not entirely unexpected in the area.
“Once in awhile at this point. I mean, it stopped for awhile but it happened again today,” the resident disclosed, reflecting the grim reality faced by the community.
