Senator Jose Peralta, Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens Distribute more than 400 Turkeys; 5,000 Turkeys Distributed over the last nine years

East Elmhurst, NY — Today, State Senator Jose Peralta and Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, alongside co-sponsors and community-based organizations, donated more than 400 turkeys to local and faith-based organizations, schools, and senior and day care centers in time for the Thanksgiving Day celebration. The ninth annual Turkey Drive will provide a meal to families in need. We thank all of our sponsors, including, Food Bazaar, Foodtown, C-Town, Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW , the Law Offices of Joseph Monaco, and Fidelis Care. Some of the 10-12 pound turkeys were distributed in the Senator’s office, and the rest will be picked up at various locations throughout the district, including Food Bazaar and Foodtown. 

“My office is proud to celebrate Thanksgiving for the ninth annual year along with the families of our district. I've been honored to represent a community of such loving and thriving families. Over the last nine years, we have distributed over 5,000 turkeys. We've made cherished memories together, and I’ve been truly blessed by the families in my community,” said Senator Peralta. 

“We are very happy to support Senator Peralta and Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens to help get healthy and delicious turkeys into the homes of families this Thanksgiving,” said Spencer An, President of Food Bazaar Supermarkets. “We have always been committed to the communities that we serve and enjoy working with its leaders to create initiatives that benefit families. We are honored to be a part of this turkey drive."
