TWU Local 100 has endorsed Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández for Senate District 34.
Expressing her excitement, Fernández stated that with the support of TWU, the largest group representing dedicated transportation supervisors, her campaign now holds the support of a pivotal workers’ organization in the state.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the hard-working men and women that keep our transit systems running 24/7,” Fernández stated.
She added, “These workers are the lifeblood of our city and have been essential to keeping our city going throughout the pandemic.”
“TWU Local 100 has served as a powerful advocate for transportation supervisors in The Bronx and Westchester. In my campaign for state senate, I am fighting to ensure accessible and affordable public transportation throughout the district. I know that these workers are the key to making that a reality and I am proud to receive their support.”
“TWU Local 100, representing 46,000 workers who operate and maintain the NYC transportation system, is proud to endorse Nathalia Fernandez for Senate District 34. Nathalia has been our partner in the labor movement.
“She reached out and visited locations to support transit workers during the height of the pandemic. Nathalia has been in constant communication with TWU Local 100 and a strong advocate for safe working conditions. That’s why she is our choice to be Senator of District 34.” said Tony Utano, President of TWU Local 100.
TWU Local 100 joins a growing coalition of labor and political powerhouses supporting Nathalia’s bid for State Senate in District 34.
