MMC, New York launch GoFundMe campaign to support Lohr Family after Times Square attack
In heartfelt display of solidarity, New Yorkers and the Muslim Media Cooperation (MMC) are rallying behind the Lohr family following a harrowing attack in Times Square.
Amber Lohr, who was stabbed while chaperoning a school trip, heroically ensured the safety of her students despite her severe injuries.
Her attacker, Cyril Destin, a career criminal, now faces serious charges, and the Lohr family is calling for justice.
Amber Lohr’s quick thinking and bravery have drawn widespread praise. Her husband, John Lohr, described her as a hero for her selfless actions in the face of danger. The New York Police Department has also been commended for their efforts in maintaining safety in high-traffic tourist areas like Times Square, a hub for over 60 million visitors annually.
Fundraising Campaign to Support the Lohr Family
In response to the attack, the Muslim Media Corporation (MMC), alongside elected officials, clergy, and community leaders, will announce a GoFundMe campaign to support the Lohr family.
The initiative aims to bring the family back to New York City to experience the city’s love and gratitude despite their ordeal.
The fundraising campaign will be formally launched at a press conference at the corner of 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue, the site of the attack. The funds will facilitate the family’s return trip to New York and provide additional support as needed.
